Four-course Dinner Menu
$65 per person
Join us Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights in our classic plantation restaurant in Virginia Wine Country for a sumptuous dinner. Each evening dinner is served at 7:00 pm. All meals are a culinary journey prepared by our talented chef. Our constantly updated menus feature the freshest of local foods and the bounties of each season. Wine pairing suggestions – featuring only the best of Virginia wines — complement each menu item.
Our dinner offers a tasting menu of four courses that are carefully crafted and served in our candle lit historic plantation dining room. Tables are set with white cloths, crisp napkins and fresh flowers. Each course has a choice of two or three dishes and each is paired with a Virginia wine, carefully selected from our exclusively Virginia wine list. Supporters of the Virginia wine industry since our opening, we are proud of the relationship with local winemakers and vineyards and are pleased to share our extensive knowledge of Virginia wines.
Entrees usually include a red meat, a fish or seafood, and another protein, such as quail or duck. Dinner begins at seven o’clock and typically moves at a leisurely European pace, taking about two hours. Additional evenings of dinner service are added from time to time, so be sure to check with the inn when making your reservation.
The dinner cost is $65 per person, exclusive of taxes and optional alcohol and gratuity. The flight of 4 Virginia wines with dinner is an additional $30; wine also may be purchased by the bottle or by the glass. Virginia beers also are available. Dinner service is open to the public, as well as the inn guests. Reservations are required, please, and can be made by calling 540-672-4912. Lunches (minimum 8 people) can also be arranged. Private group Cooking Schools can be arranged as well.
While the Inn does not have a jacket and tie requirement, gentlemen most often choose slacks and sport shirt and ladies a dress or slacks and blouse. Some guests like to dress up to celebrate a special occasion or just to have a lovely night out.
Because dining is such an important part of the Meander experience, we require that guests of our Virginia inn dine with us one of the nights of their stay when the restaurant is open.
Special dietary needs, allergies or special diets are happy accommodated whenever possible. Be sure to tell the Innkeeper if something special is needed for your stay. However, due to the limited size or our kitchen, we know that cross contamination is a possibility and are not able to fulfill stringent dietary issues with confidence.
Our Popular Dinner Basket:
On the nights the Inn’s dining room is not open, we offer our guests the choice of a three course chef-prepared hot meal all packed with dishes, silverware and glasses in a huge basket. This Dinner Basket is intended to be enjoyed en suite or anywhere else on the property that might suit your mood. Typically the chef’s choice menu will be a soup or salad, an entrée with two sides, fresh bread and butter and a dessert. A bottle of Virginia wine can be added to complete your private dining experience.
