6-7p.m. — Welcoming Reception with Wine and Hors d’Oeuvres

Monday:

8:30 a.m. — Breakfast
9:30 a.m. — Introductions and Overview
9:45 - 11:45 a.m. — Session I: "The Basics (Quickly), Then Down to Business"
11:45 a.m. — Tasting I
12:30 p.m. — "Vino and the Vison"- Conversation with a grower and/or vintner over lunch
1:30 - 2:30 p.m. — Session II: "Grapes to Glass" - Rob Gardner, representative of Country Vintner Wine Distribution
2:30 - 3:30 p.m. — Wine Tasting II
3:30 - 4:30 p.m. — Session III: "Ordering Wine in a Restaurant" – Jeffery Mitchell (French Man’s Corner Wine Shop in Culpeper)
4:30 - 5:30 p.m. — Session IV: Concurrent Classes, such as:

  • Hosting a Wine Tasting
  • Cooking Demo by a Meander Chef

6:30 p.m. — Lessons with the Vintner/Owner of the evening's featured winery
7 p.m. — Five Course Wine Dinner, featuring the exceptional cuisine of Executive Chef David Scales paired with the select wines of our featured winery

Tuesday:

8:30 a.m. — Breakfast
9:a.m. — Depart for Crow Mountain High Maintenance Vineyard
9:45 - 11:45 a.m. — Vineyard Management and Hands-On Work Among the Vines under the guidance of Vineyard Owner Rob Gardner
Noon — Lunch in the Vineyard
1 p.m. — Depart for tour of selected winery
1:45 - 3:45 p.m. — Winery Tour and Tasting (and purchasing)
4:30 - 5:30 p.m. — Concurrent Sessions:

  • Cooking Lesson with Executive Chef David Scales
  • Everything else you wanted to know after the basics

7 p.m. — Themed Dinner with Horizontal Tasting

Wednesday:

8:30 a.m. — Breakfast and farewells
— OR —
9:30 a.m. — Depart for Optional Day of Winery Tours and Tastings
5:30 p.m. — Return to Meander (estimate)
6:00 p.m. — Dinner on your own
